JUNE Books of the month One Duck Stuck by Phyllis Root Some of our activities will help identifying initial sounds, playing "Shape Hokey Pokey", fingerpainting with "mud", and matching animals to their habitats. Jump, Frog, Jump by Robert Kalan We will practice listening for letter sounds, sponge paint frogs, learn about the life cycle of a frog, practice counting while hopping from lily pad to lily pad, and blending colors. Three Fish and the Big Bad Shark by Ken Geist Over in the Ocean by Marianne Berkes We are going to make shark rubbings, compare and contrast The Three Little Pigs and The Three Fish and the Big Bad Shark, sort and count sea shells, practice nonstandard measuring, and fish for letters. We will learn about ocean animals, play some fun games,practice our number recognition and counting skills. And build our own shipwreck. | JULY This month we will practice listening for letter sounds, make a stegosaurus hat, measure dinosaurs, excavate and sort dinosaurs, conduct measuring activities using eggs, do some graphing activities and learn what the following terms mean: oviparous, carnivore, and herbivore as well as do a lot of other fun activities.
